Proton GPS runs on Teltonika tracking hardware and the GpsGate fleet management platform. GpsGate officially supports Teltonika devices out of the box, so nothing about this pairing is improvised.

- CAN bus reading (J1939/J1708): real fuel consumption and level, full mileage, engine temperature and hours read directly from the vehicle.
- Tachograph integration: remote download of driver-time data via K-Line, ALL-CAN, Tacho CAN or FMS connections.
- RS232 / RS485 interfaces: connect external temperature sensors, fuel-level probes and RFID readers to the same unit.
- RFID / iButton driver ID: immobilizer logic tied to an authorized chip or card per driver.
- Built-in accelerometer events: crash detection, towing detection, unplug/tamper alerts and green-driving scoring, without extra hardware.
- BLE 4.0 wireless sensors: Teltonika EYE sensors and beacons pair over Bluetooth for temperature, door or fuel add-ons with no extra wiring.
- Remote firmware updates (FOTA): devices are reconfigured and updated over the air, no truck needs to come off the road for it.
- Internal backup battery: kept reporting even if a vehicle’s power is cut or the unit is tampered with.
- 4G LTE Cat 1 models available for faster, more frequent reporting where coverage supports it.

Smart event detection
What the hardware catches on its own
Teltonika’s built-in accelerometer turns raw motion into fleet-relevant events. No extra sensor required for any of these four.
Crash detection
A sudden, severe deceleration is flagged and timestamped the moment it happens.
Towing detection
Movement with the engine off is a strong signal the vehicle is being moved without authorization.
Unplug & tamper alerts
If the device loses power or is disconnected, that event itself is logged and reported.
Excessive idling
Engine-on, vehicle-stationary time is tracked separately from driving time, straight into fuel-cost reporting.
